What is Corrective Exercise?

Do you have a constantly sore, aching back? Do your shoulders and neck ache from constantly staring at your computer or phone screen? Knee pain and foot problems can also be caused by muscle imbalance. Muscle imbalances lead to poor movement. Poor movement leads to injuries. As a Corrective Exercise Specialist, I am trained to not only help prevent those injuries, but to correct any imbalances you may currently have. 


Corrective Exercise is a term used to describe the systematic process of identifying a neuromusculoskeletal  dysfunction, developing a plan of action, and implementing an integrated corrective strategy. This process requires knowledge and application of an integrated assessment process, corrective program design, and exercise technique.  Collectively, the three step process is to:

1.    Identify the problem through an integrated assessment

2.    Solve the problem with a corrective program design

3.    Implement the solution through exercise technique
